The house is perfect for all hiking lovers to start their walking or hiking tours. Without using your car, you can just start your walks to the surrounding Alps (mountain pastures) or up the mountains.
This fascinating landscape of the "Carina Alps Region" offers all different hiking possibilities, starting from a simple relaxing walk over meadows and fields and ending with special mountain hiking and climbing tours up to the Alps, mountain tops or the clear tarns.

1000 km of hiking trails from 500 m elevation gain to a maximum height of 2400 m, where farmed Alps invite you to stay, are available. At your request we come along.
Some of the valleys farmed Alps are also reachable comfortable by car. You should better not miss these places with the famous Gailtaler Speck (an absolute special smoked ham which is only available in the valley of Gail) and our famous Gailtaler farmed Alps cheese!
The warmest lake for bathing of carinthia, the Pressegger Lake is only 5 km away from our house. The lake has temperatures up to 28°C and grade A water quality. Around the lake you can find different nice swimming areas including large areas to relax and children's playground.

Locally, just a short walk from our apartments, the natural swimming pool in Radnig offers an idyllic quiet location and is especially great for families with small children.
Whilst children enjoy the open air natural swimming pool and play area, parents can appreciate the good food and drink from the terraces of the adjoining bar/restaurant.
Various unhurried biking tours for the whole family as well as sophisticated tours for advanced (mountain) bikers could be started in Radnig. Through the valley of Gail runs the Carnia Biking Trail, just along the Gail River. There are different rest points, sights and attractions on the way, and different opportunities to swim.

The Skiarena Nassfeld is regarded as one of the most modern and attractive skiing areas in Austria. It is located in the south-west of Carinthia on the Austrian-Italian border.
The Skiarena offers 30 state-of-the-art gondolas, more than 110 km of slopes of all difficulty-levels. A special attraction is the 7.6 km long "Carnia run" which goes down to the valley. The lower third has the longest floodlit slopes in Europe (at 2.2km) and makes for absolutely great skiing experience by night.
Snowboarders have the additional possibility to enjoy two fun-parks with Quarter pipes, Border cross, High jumps and the original Memphis-"Twin pipe". Due to technically advanced snowmaking facilities slopes are open from December to April.
Different après ski bars are available, and it is no problem to walk over to Italy and enjoy real Italian cappuccino or food in one of the restaurants.
The natural swimming pool in Radnig invites you to ice-skating in a romantic surrounding. An ice curling alley offers the possibility to play either at day or night in clear fresh air, warmed up with hot wine or punch.
The cross-country skiing beats in the valley and Weissensee region, where perfect prepared cross-country ski-tracks are available. Tip: Try the 12km long Gitschtal-track, which starts in Hermagor and ends at the end of the valley in Weissbriach. It is absolutely worth to experience. Another famous possibility is to run either with ice-skates or on cross-country ski-tracks on the frozen surface of the lake of Weissensee. Just try who will be faster. Closer by is the Pressegger See which also offers ice skating opportunities.
Also during the day, or lit up at night, are toboggan slopes which are fun for all the family to enjoy.
